The Daily Muck

With all the recent press about Dick Cheney's exemption from oversight, there is at least one person who is not interested in pursuing the matter further: Alberto Gonzales. (Think Progress)

This explains Cheney’s recent exemption from the oversight of a recent executive order: where the order said all executives agencies, the White House assumed it was understood that both the President and the Vice President’s offices were exempt. (LA Times)

Which of course would explain why the "White House Security Office" and Director Jim Knodell knew of NO INVESTIGATION that occured inside the White House regarding the compromise of classifed info as a result of the Plame case.

Why? Because no one was required to do it.

Dick Cheney is not part of the Executive branch, eh? Well, I hope someone figures out that means he is not shielded by the concept that the Executive can not be prosecuted for breaking the law in carrying out his duties as Executive.

Dick Cheney has broken the law, at times seemingly just to prove he can break the law. If he's not part of the executive, that means we can put him in prison for it.

Let's do it now.

There is no link to the story about the two lobby firms striking back against Ken Silverstein's fine article in Harper's.

The link does correctly point to Ken Silverstein's comment about the lobby firms' complaint. Ken correcly points out the need for media outlets to promote more investigative journalism, instead of spending "their money on tables at the White House Correspondents dinner and watch Karl Rove rap."
