Appointing Former Aide Was "Important to Karl"

This deserves its own post:

The e-mails show that Rove was interested in the appointment of a former aide, Tim Griffin, as an Arkansas prosecutor. [Alberto Gonzales' chief of staff Kyle] Sampson wrote in one that "getting him appointed was important to Harriet, Karl, etc."

Doesn't say much for Tim Griffin's ability to get work on say... his own merits. Wonder what bidding they wanted him to do there?

They wanted Griffin in place to launch bogus investigations in 2008 IF Hillary becomes the Dem nominee.
It's kinda straightforward. Ratf**g 101.
Too bad our elite media is so timid.
God bless the Muckraker.

Tim Griffin was the architect of the 2004 caging lists, as reported by Greg Palast for the BBC. Since Griffin's name popped up in tthis US Attorney firings, Palast returned to the topic, which you can read at www.gregpalast.com, second entry.

When the targets of a caging list are people of color, as was the case with Griffin's scheme, the crime is a felony under the 1965 Voting Rights Act. It's pretty shocking that no media outlet in the USA picked up the story in 2004. I'm hoping the TPM media empire will use Palast's work to push this story to the next level.

Karl Rove's desk calendar is a road-map to political evil.

Congress NEEDS to supoena and photocopy it for mass distribution.

RE: Sampson.
It is worth noting his efforts to replace a US Attorneys with none other than himself, in other words making him potentially the beneficiary of the process he was overseeing....Now this is patently a conflict of interest, and quite stupid, considering that there was a Republican Senator with his own candidate for the job and the Senator was none other than Hatch,...but was it criminal? In fact, can someone explain Schumer's criminal charges could be brought against Sampson?
