Former Rove Aide: What's The Rush?
Last Friday, we noted that Karl Rove's former aide Tim Griffin, now the U.S. Attorney for Arkansas' Eastern District, said that he would not seek confirmation in the Senate.
Since the Justice Department had declared to the press and the Senate that President Bush will in fact nominate someone for the job, this would seem to mean that Griffin's days on the job are numbered.
It takes about two months on average for a nominee to make his way through the Senate. But that, of course, depends on the president nominating someone, and thanks to last year's change in the law, the administration isn't under any legal pressure to do that. And as for Griffin, he's not packing up his things quite yet. From McClatchy:
Griffin, 38, said he would be willing to remain interim U.S. attorney until a replacement is named. Under a change in the law last year, that means he could stay in office until the end of President Bush's term."I will be here as long as the White House and Department of Justice wants me here," he said. "Under the law, I could be here, hypothetically, until end of 2008 or early 2009."
Actually, to be exact, the law says that Griffin could stay on the job until he is replaced. But apparently even Griffin doesn't entertain the notion that the next administration, Republican or Democratic, would keep him on.

I have been faxing this to all the Senate Jusiciary Committee Senators this morning. When a USA is a Bush appointee with no Senate oversight this following can happen. If the Justice Dept allows this abuse of a 100% disabled veteran to occur, they will allow it of ANYONE.

Dear Senators,
My Fiancee, John R. Mitchell has a federal lawsuit against the US Army in Alaska (USARAK) for multiple Civil Rights violations. John is a 100% service connected disabled veteran that went back to help with this war in the US Army Alaska's Command Center at Ft Richardson. He agreed to go to Iraq to help with the war and was made disabled a second time by the outright abuse by the US Army Alaska. I will put all the related information at the end of this letter. Since filing this lawsuit he has received multiple threats, one of which, an email, we brought to the FBI.
This past Saturday John and I were shopping in a local store when one of the Command Center employees, Tony Erne, from Ft Richardson came up behind John, grabbed him on the shoulder and turned him around to confront him. John told him twice to stay away and then I got in the middle of them. I have bruises on my arm as a result of trying to keep Mr. Erne away. Mr. Erne is trying to have John arrested for threatening him. This incident is an obvious setup of John Mitchell by the US Army. What is next, Mr. Robert Gates reviving his old Death Squads?
John has gone to the US Attorney's office before filing a suit through a private attorney to try and get help in stopping these multiple abuses by the US Army. What does it take for the US Attorney to finally do his job and protect the Civil Rights of a 100% service connected disabled veteran? I would like Mr. Cohen to answer that question. Preferably at his confirmation hearing.

Im found this:
"Soma is the brand name for Carisoprodol. It is a skeletal muscle
relaxant that is centally acting. It also causes CNS depression which can
cause dizziness, drowsiness ect. It is better used in acute conditions vs.
chronic. The usual dosage is 350mg 4 times per day. It aids in mucsle
spasms too. You should be resting more and physical therapy possibly if
your Dr. orders it.From what I know about it , it is an average type of
relaxant, similiar to robaxin, skellaxin etc. Srongers meds used for
muscular spasms would be like valium or benzo's. It does not have any
aspirin properties in it. "
